Hello everyone, I want to attach a 2-meter tall cabinet with internal drawers in the kitchen to the wall (as purely an anti-tip measure). Since heating pipes run behind the cabinet, I cannot use the normal mounting points because the distance would be too great. I would like to attach metal brackets to the top of the cabinet and then anchor them to the wall. Can someone please give me information on how the top panel of the Metod tall cabinets is constructed? Is it a "solid" chipboard? Should screws (3 pieces 4x20mm per bracket) hold there as a pure anti-tip measure? Thank you very much for your help!

Hello,
chipboard or MDF. Whether it is sufficient as reinforcement depends on the possible load. It will be connected with rather small screws.
I don’t understand why the distance to the wall is different a few centimeters higher up and where something is supposed to be attached on the ceiling side.

I would use the existing brackets on the (in the) tall cabinet. You just need to support them accordingly to provide the necessary spacing. For example, with wooden blocks with drill holes. That would definitely be the sensible, intended option. However, brackets could also be attached on the top side. It is an 18 mm chipboard.
