Hello,

I installed our gas cooktop DÅTID HGA5K two days ago and I am totally excited.

However, the delivery also included 2 additional sets of nozzles. What are they for? A quick Google search showed that different nozzles are needed for city gas and propane gas. But what is the third one for? Or which ones are already pre-installed on the cooktop upon delivery?

I think the flame is quite okay, although sometimes a yellow flame can be seen, which is not optimal as far as I know. Can anyone tell me which nozzles are optimal for me (I have city gas/natural gas)?

Thanks
Mike

P.S. Unfortunately, I don't have a manual for the device. I already requested it from the manufacturer "Whirlpool". Unfortunately, she spoke very poor German. She repeated my email address three times, but the manual never arrived. So I am really disappointed here.

Attention....

Please do not use the gas hob anymore and turn off the gas supply immediately.

If you do not do this, you are playing with your life and also with the lives of others who live in your immediate vicinity.

A gas hob may only be connected by a professional. If this has not been done, you risk being reported in the event of an accident for negligent bodily injury, and therefore no liability or other insurance will pay. Private legal protection insurance will also refuse service.

Have a professional come immediately and have the hob checked.

You will get no help from me here, only a disbelieving shake of the head.

What do you want from me now?

The cooktop was of course installed by a heating technician! Should I send you the invoice from the specialist company so you can sleep peacefully again?? So tell me!

My question was solely why there are 3 different nozzles included in the delivery.

As far as I know, the cooktops are designed for town gas when purchased - accordingly, the nozzles installed are for that. If you want to operate them with bottled gas, you have to install the other nozzles and cover the data plate on the underside.

I don’t have instructions at hand right now - maybe one of the other members here in the forum has something lying around? If not, I can organize one for you.

Regards

PS: No aggression here - Maverick only meant well. If you have ever seen what a gas explosion causes, you know what he means (I have experienced it, thankfully only in a controlled environment).

Ok,

that means the pre-installed ones are for town gas and the other two included are for bottled gas. So I assume that the nozzles on it fit. I was just surprised that there are two others included. One would have been logical because it would have been for bottled gas. Or is there a third option (town gas, bottled gas, ?)?

An instruction manual would be really great. No idea why it wasn’t included. Or maybe the installer threw it away while unpacking or something. I should have installed it myself (Just kidding Maverick!!!!). Strange that it’s not online at Ikea. Otherwise, everything is on the homepage.

Got the thing with the three nozzles figured out. Here for your information in case anyone is interested:

Answer from my municipal utility:
Regarding G20: this describes the quality of a gas, in this case H (High) gas with high calorific value, which is also used here in xxx.
G25 would be L (Low) gas with lower calorific value, for which your cooktop would also be suitable.

So there are 2 nozzles for town gas (G20 G25) and one for bottled gas.

I just have to check if the correct ones are on mine. If not, I'll tinker a bit unqualified, turn the valve on and go on vacation for 2 weeks. Let's see if the house is still there when I come back. Don’t worry, of course the replacement will be done by the heating engineer I trust.

Thanks again for (almost) all the answers!!!

Best regards
Mike
