Hello,

I am currently setting up our Metod kitchen, and we have chosen the Hällviken sink. What I am missing is a twist knob to open the drain without having to touch the water. I have not found any further information about this. How does it work with the drain on the sink?

Best regards!

Hi,
this sieve insert in the drain is fitted with a plug at the bottom. So you have to reach into the water.

Best regards,

Andreas

I’m digging up the old thread again.

We were given the mentioned sink as a gift, but the hole for the faucet would need to be on the other side. This means: where the previous owner had the faucet, we have to close that hole and create a hole on the opposite side where our faucet should be. Normally, this is done with a hole punch. Since the basin is made of stone powder, etc., I’m concerned that the entire basin will be destroyed if I try to punch it. Are my concerns justified? If yes: how do I get the hole in there?

If necessary, drill with a glass drill bit and then grind out.

According to the instructions (and that is how I did it), you take a screwdriver and a hammer, place it in the center, and strike firmly. The opening has predetermined breaking points. Nothing went wrong.
