Hello dear Ikea fans,

I have already assembled a lot of Besta and Pax cabinets and am really not unskilled in craftsmanship. However, at the moment I am not really making progress. I have a Besta TV bench on which I now want to place the Framsta base unit. According to the instructions for the TV bench, I am supposed to mount 2 brackets on the back of the TV bench (where the cable channel usually runs). The Framsta base unit is then to be placed on these, but then I can no longer screw the base unit to the TV bench because I am supposed to place the base unit at the height of the cable channel and then there is no mounting surface under the base unit. Is that correct? Does the base unit only sit on these 2 brackets and is not screwed further to the TV bench, or is there something wrong with the instructions?

Hello, a screw connection is not necessary, as the panel is also attached to the wall.

Yes, but if I were to mount the base element on another TV stand, I would have to screw the whole thing (according to the instructions). Since I also wanted to hang an LCD on the panel, I am not sure if the 2 screws for the wall are sufficient.

The weight of the television mainly acts downward. The tensile force on the wall can be supported by the two screws, provided that the wall condition, anchor, and screw sizes are correct.
