Dear fellow human beings,
due to my above experience with the Ikea hotline, I am clearly in the wrong place with regard to the name of this nice site.
However, I have unfortunately ordered a nice wall unit consisting of Framsta and Besta elements, which is supposed to be delivered and assembled next week. Because IKEA does not know the condition of my wall (if I hear that word once more...!), IKEA wants me to buy my own screws for wall mounting. Unfortunately, IKEA cannot tell me how wide the screws or screw heads for wall mounting need to/may be, because it does not train its hotline employees and could easily replace them with Swedish chimpanzees.
Therefore, I am now desperately but not hopelessly asking whether anyone in this forum knows how to answer this essential question. By the way, my wall condition (ARGH!) is as follows: exterior wall with facing brick.
It would be really great if someone with experience could give me a tip, possibly also regarding which dowels to use.
Many thanks and please don’t take offense, it’s not your fault!
