Hi,
I have had a kitchen from Ikea for a year now and I am basically quite satisfied.... if only it weren’t for...
yes, if only it weren’t for the domsjö sink. It has been in use for a year and now there are cracks all over the bottom. (definitely nothing has fallen in and I don’t even wash my daily dishes in it – because I have a dishwasher. Of course, I sometimes pour hot pasta water out, but a sink should be able to withstand that. At first, I thought it was just signs of wear, but these are definitely cracks, even though there are no deep grooves yet. But the whole sink is crisscrossed. If it were just about the looks, I could live with it (even though it really shouldn’t be like that), but how long until the sink actually breaks?
Now my question: I have read that this has happened more often with older sinks and they were also replaced without any problems. Is it possible that I got an old specimen or does this happen constantly with these sinks? Is it worth replacing the old one and trying again, or should I look for an alternative (not Ikea)? One replacement would be okay, but if I have to do this every year??
What are your experiences with the white sinks?
THANKS,
Tina!
