Hello everyone!
Two weeks ago, I bought a Billy shelf with valbo glass doors. Unfortunately, all fittings and hinges were missing on both doors. Upon inquiry, the spare parts were ordered immediately (not in stock at the store) and sent by mail. The hinges that were then delivered matched the instructions, but the fittings did not – these could NOT be connected with the hinges so that they clicked together. Called again, delivered again, today the same delivery with the same wrong fittings. Does anyone have any idea what else I can do now? I then chatted with a consultant who forwarded the issue with photos to the store. Has anyone possibly had a similar problem?

To explain in detail, it is the spare part 115914, which clearly has a rectangular recess at the rear end in the instructions, into which a "nipple" of the hinge (correctly delivered) 115913 is supposed to snap. However, the delivered part has a large round recess and also a hole on top (which I don’t think interferes). Due to the enlarged recess, the two parts mentioned cannot be connected.

In my photo album, you will find three photos of this!!

I would really appreciate any help!

Best regards
Daniela

Hello Daniela, you have not placed the strap correctly on the mounting plate (Bild 1). There are two small hooks on the hinge strap. These must be pushed under the mounting plate. This should make the strap sit far enough back to snap into place.

Hello! The hooks are hard to see in the photo, but they are pushed underneath due to the large recess (oval on one side) which, unlike in the instructions where it is rectangular and narrow, does not click together. I have added three more photos! And in direct comparison with the instructions, I have discovered that the mounting plate looks too long. In the instructions, it ends after the arrow, my part still has a "step" and then about 0.5 mm more. Best regards

Ok, something seems to have gone wrong with the plates. If Ikea doesn’t come up with a solution soon, I would try the mounting plates for Besta Tombo 115920. They are basically the same, only they have wood screws for 3 mm holes. Whether you can just replace the screws directly or need to slightly drill out the holes first, I don’t remember now. My next attempt would be to try mounting plates from Hettich (107 162 5).

Hi, ok, thanks first of all for the tip about the besta mounting plates. My husband is now trying to saw off or file down the protruding part. We have 6 pcs. in reserve anyway *gg*! It should fit then. But it’s still strange,... Thanks anyway for now! Regards Daniela

The mounting plate should be a total of 40 mm long.
