Hello everyone,
I have 2 Ikea Besta wall cabinets (60x64x20) hanging directly next to each other on the wall. So in total, they are 120 cm wide.
Each cabinet has 1 glass shelf and glass doors in front.
Now I would like to illuminate the cabinets. For example, the Omlopp spot would come into consideration. You could install 1 spot on the top inside each cabinet under the upper case panel.
However, my cabinets are hanging on the wall with a wall rail.
When I look at the mounting instructions of the SPOT, I don’t quite understand it.
You drill a hole through the back panel, then mount the SPOT. But right behind the hole is the wall rail (??). Even if the wall rail wasn’t there, I could lead the cable through the hole into the hollow space between the back panel and the wall where the cabinets hang. But how do I then get the cable out to connect it to the transformer? The cabinet lies flush all around on the wall. Or is the cable seriously supposed to be squeezed between the wall and the cabinet carcass?
Somehow, I don’t understand something. Alternatively, I could use Philips HUE for lighting, but the exact same cable routing problem arises here. It makes no difference whether I use lighting from IKEA or another manufacturer; the problem remains the same.
