Ikea Besta cabinet 128cm with drawers in different sizes

I haven't found an entry for my problem, maybe I overlooked it.

I want to equip a corpus 128 cm with two 38 cm drawers and one 26 cm drawer and leave a storage surface with a shelf on top.

Now I'm stuck, two large drawers and then the small one installed, now the distance between the second large drawer and the small drawer is about 1 cm. Then I swapped the second large with the small one but the distance does not decrease.

Mathematically it fits 38 38 26 26. Whether I install the second small drawer or take a shelf is irrelevant.

Where is my mistake?

Hello, assemble the 26er front as if it were the bottom drawer.

I solved the problem; somewhere here in the forum there was also an approach to the solution. I didn’t pay attention to the note at point 11 during the corpus assembly – apparently, like many others. The pre-drilled hole for the handles must be facing DOWN! That seems quite illogical to attach handles for drawers at the bottom, but then it works! It’s not even so bad to have the handles at the bottom, but at first assembly that seemed completely illogical.

I have a 38cm drawer at the bottom, where no holes for handles are pre-drilled at all. Above that two 26cm drawers. I didn’t want the holes for the handles of the 38cm drawers to be just above the floor, so I used a 26cm panel as a drilling template from above with the hole facing down. That way all the handles are at the same distance from each other.

In the case of this pre-drilled hole, which is located in the middle on one side of the drawer front, it is not a pre-drilled hole for attaching a handle. Handles/knobs are usually installed using the drilling template. The assembly instructions are a bit tricky here; you really have to make sure to mount the fronts the right way around. Then everything will fit.
