Hello,
just a pointless post out of curiosity: We are very happy with our house. Everything is wonderful. But if I had to plan my house again now without money constraints, I would build this (south is on the left):

Of course, the whole thing would have a basement and a really nice stairway landing, of course.
Okay, without money constraints you could also build a huge castle, but that’s not what I wanted at all. That would be way too big for me. That’s why this would be my dream house.

What would you build if money didn’t matter? Which floor plan would you choose, what kind of features, size, etc.?

I would build a large atrium bungalow, preferably with a light split-level. Horseshoe shape with glazed corridors. No basement, no attic! A few highlights in the equipment: alarm system, sauna and wellness bath, travertine, lots of built-in indirect lighting, a higher room (glazed) as a photo studio and pool :D

Interesting consideration. Our house would basically not be much different than currently planned, bungalow, no basement, lots of glass, tailored to the plot and wishes... Possible change might be a natural stone facade. But: The plot would be completely elsewhere and thus the adaptation as well. It would be, for example, in a vineyard with a view of a river. Or high up in the Alps with a view of a lake. Or maybe 10m elevated with a private boat dock on a lake or river with access to the North Sea and/or the Baltic Sea.

The apartment for the Au-pair is missing

And the observatory on the roof.

Well, I had actually thought about that too but then dismissed it again. I find it totally strange if someone I employed lives in my house. Therefore, the employees have to find a place to sleep elsewhere. ;) An observatory wouldn't really be my thing either. Oh yes, and a little natural stone wall as a property boundary! Mmmh, yes. I might like that too. But I'm still more of a forest and meadow type. I would most likely transplant my house directly into a nature reserve. :)

A house with a pool! Inside! With a window front :D

And when we are rich, we'll build the guest house in the garden, where the Au Pair and possibly guests may live ;)
