Meal everyone,

I need some expert advice from someone who is familiar with the installation of HT wastewater pipes.

Just before the wastewater pipe leaves the house through the wall, it makes several bends describing an S-curve. This was represented by simply connecting several HT pipes together. Now, we have been observing for some time that a brown, almost odorless liquid occasionally accumulates below this S-curve.

Since I personally have little knowledge of this whole matter, I always assumed that there is a leak somewhere at the connection points, through which something occasionally leaks out. I then contacted the specialist company that installed these pipes back then. Based on a photo I submitted, they performed a remote diagnosis and claimed that the brown liquid is sealing compound that has liquefied over the months and is now leaking out.

I observed this for quite a while and recently found a larger amount of this liquid again. Since I could not for the life of me imagine that it was liquefied sealing compound, I contacted this specialist company again.

They then came to make an on-site inspection.

The result: They insist that it is the aforementioned sealing compound that has liquefied. It would decrease over time. To further questions, only strange answers came, something along the lines of: "This is not unusual, I've seen it TWICE already," etc.

Personally, I do not believe this explanation. I can imagine much more likely that it is simply condensation water. In the adjacent room, there is a washing machine and dryer. The humidity is probably not always very low.

Has any professional here perhaps ever experienced something like this? Can I believe the specialist company with their explanation or are they just feeding me something?
