Good day,

on the 1st floor wooden beams lie on the top edge of the wall at intervals of about 60 cm. On top of them are laid 18mm tongue and groove boards. Above that, styrofoam boards with a thickness of 5 cm are placed edge to edge. A second layer of styrofoam boards lies above, rotated by 90 degrees, and a third layer, again rotated by 90 degrees; so 3x 5 cm styrofoam. Finally, a chipboard with a thickness of 20 mm lies on top.

This is the floor for the storage room. The room is too low in the middle to stand upright, and towards the outside one cannot even reach the top edge of the wall while lying down because the roof beams are just above the wall. Therefore, further insulation work is quite problematic, not to mention that the entire roof would have to be removed.

What type of insulation could be done to the underlying floor? Are the total 5 layers sufficient? It seems to me that the heat escapes well upwards.

Thank you!
