Hello everyone.

Since we are not getting a masonry entrance area, we have been looking for suitable canopies for the front door.

Especially with the integrated lighting and the built-in mailbox, we really like the look.

Since the lower part of our house will be faced with bricks, I gave some thought today to how I will attach the whole thing.

According to the assembly instructions, the whole thing is screwed in with 12mm anchors.

Can a brick wall like that handle it? Or do I always have to be afraid in case of snow, etc.?

The roof is 2.5m long and approximately 1m deep. There can potentially be a few kilos of snow on it. I don’t even know how heavy the part itself is.

I would be very happy about some experience-based information.

If the side wall does not rest on the floor as shown in the picture, it will definitely be too heavy. If it were my house - I would go with the fastening all the way into the wall and not just to the brick.

As written, unfortunately I do not yet know how much the components themselves weigh. It consists at least of aluminum and PU foam according to the description.

I just checked. The 2.0m version weighs 40kg incl. side panel. For the 2.5m version, the same side panel is included. Therefore, I estimate the total weight changes to 45kg.

The special challenge is wind load. If the side panel can also be anchored in the ground, that is already half the battle.

The side panel unfortunately cannot be attached to the floor.
