Hello everyone,

I have a question for you again.
We are supposed to receive the draft purchase agreement from the notary this week. I read that the buyer must/should have 14 days to review it.
Can we then schedule the appointment 14 days later, as soon as we have the draft? Or do the 14 days start over again each time, for example if we or the seller have any change requests?

We want to get everything done as quickly as possible so that we can finally start with the concrete planning. Even if it takes a while until we are officially registered as owners, nothing should go wrong after the signing, and we can start working with architects etc., or would you wait longer??

I had several notarizations (development area) the year before last where some buyers waived the 14-day reflection period. However, the notary pointed out this circumstance in the deed. The so-called factual reason in this case was that the builders did not want to lose time. The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) has required this factual reason for non-compliance with the deadline according to a decision. If this is not apparent, the notary has the official duty to refuse the notarization. If you want, I can look up the exact wording.

Greetings from Berlin

Thank you Kosan, but it has been resolved for now. We were on vacation and wanted to receive the contract draft by email so that we could have it reviewed. However, that did not work out, the notary only sent it by mail, but dated it March 5th, so we are already within the 14 days anyway.
