How have you solved the area behind the radiators at your place?

we have a heating renovation planned in the old building; we bought the house used.
The previous owners also wallpapered behind the old radiators so that today you can no longer access it without completely removing the respective radiator. Now I want to use the opportunity and install a long-lasting solution behind the radiators.

How have you solved this problem?

After all, wallpapering is certainly done more often than radiators are replaced.

from my point of view, there are two possibilities: leave it free behind the radiator and paint it white.
Option 1: Up to the window. When renovating, always repaint the strip at the top and bottom.
Option 2: Wallpaper the strip between the radiator and the window at the top as a narrow strip.

How a professional solves this: no idea!

A professional dismantles the heaters. We could have done that too, but then wallpapered behind them as far as possible, and painted the rest white. however, we also only wallpapered with white woodchip wallpaper.

If possible: Clad from the outside. Provide enough alternatives for this on the internet!
