Hello,

I have a question. I have moved into a new house and am now looking for a way to hang curtains without drilling. In my old apartment, I had café curtains with those mounts, but these fittings don't fit here. Is there something else? I don't want to damage the new windows right away :)

Thanks Marie

Hello Marie,

first of all, welcome to our group. I am also quite new here, and we have to help each other :)

We had the same problem. We had lived for many years in an old apartment building where the old curtain rods were still in place. Now in our detached house, the windows do not go up to the ceiling, and so we looked at the hardware store. There are side brackets for café curtains that can be clamped onto the window frames without drilling. Maybe that would work?

Best regards, Gerda

Hello Gerda,

thank you very much.
I was at the hardware store today.
There are two different options.
One is for clamping, which you clamp behind the frame under tension, and I have now also bought that.
Then there were also such brackets that you have to screw on, but also without drilling. However, I find it easier with the rod for clamping, and with that I can also determine the height.
Now something is done again :)

Hi Marie,

this shows again what you can achieve on the internet.
Not everyone can know everything, and here you received direct help.
Having worked through a problem is always a nice feeling :)
maybe you can present your latest achievement to us in pictures sometime.
That then has a very clear impact if someone has the same problem.

Hello Senni,

mh, I have to check regarding pictures first. We do have a camera here, but I don't even know if it's still installed on the PC. I'm not really into pictures.
There wouldn’t be much to see anyway, as there are only two small holders that are attached to the frame, where you can then hang the rod with the curtain on it. From a distance, it doesn’t look much different from regular café curtain holders.
You’re right about that. Before calling somewhere or going there, it’s easier to quickly ask in a forum :)

Yes, such a forum can often help and I am also happy about every tip. I did not know about the [Scheibengardinen] either. There is always something to learn. Thank you very much for this help.
