Hi everyone,
I'm going to write my topic in this category – hoping that it roughly fits.
We came across a semi-detached house in GG which is close to completion, meaning the interior work is still being finished and then we could have the keys. The other half is already sold and they will move in soon. This half is available because the financing didn't work out for the previous interested party (according to the real estate agent).
We like the house, size and layout all fit nicely.
My questions: Normally, with a new build, I would count on the construction supervision by a building surveyor (e.g. from the Bauherren-Schutzbund). Now everything is basically finished. Does a surveyor still make sense for me? I thought maybe for the final inspection to properly assess potential defects.
I would also have the purchase contract checked. The developer is a local, small company about which nothing else can be found. Should I ask for a list of the trades involved?
Do you have any other ideas about what should be found out?
Thanks in advance and have a nice Sunday,
Andrea
