Hello everyone,

we have a small problem. We already bought a plot of land from the municipality last year and have already started planning the house. We drew everything ourselves, the architect checked everything and then redrew everything "cleanly." Soil surveys, measurements, thermal insulation verification, etc. have all already been completed. And now that the "building" is getting closer and closer, we are becoming increasingly uncertain. We already have a house that we would sell, and the longer we live here, the less comfortable we feel with the thought of a "new build."
Has this ever happened to anyone else? The new plot would be significantly smaller, the house actually our dream house, but with much less space than now; although we would need to do quite a few renovations in our current house over the next 10 years. We are torn back and forth.
Looking forward to ideas and feedback. Thank you.

What kind of ideas are you expecting? That someone who knows neither you nor your story nor all the circumstances takes this decision away from you?? I find that grotesque, even with actual and constructive feedback here I see no added value for you. It rather seems that you have long since made your decision and now hope for approval so that this "unusual process" is justified.

Feedback: if you don’t want to build anymore, then don’t. It seems this is not about economic considerations.

What added value did you expect from the new building when you bought the property some time ago?

What were your goals back then? And have they changed?

The decision can only be made by you.

If it reassures you, there have already been several similar topics here with fears about the start of construction, the purchase of the property, or signing the financing.
