Hello everyone,
the following situation:
We want to demolish a house (the basement will remain and be filled), which is located directly by the sidewalk.
The connections are also in the basement right at the beginning. So from the street, under the sidewalk, and then everything is attached directly to the basement wall.
In the later house, the garage will be at this spot and the house connections must be exactly at this spot, just 1-2 meters away, but only on the ground floor since there will be no basement.
The utility company says I have to disconnect the connections, then demolish, and then have the new connection installed.
The demolition company says you can save several thousand euros if you just have the connections relocated.
The utility company says you have to disconnect because you don’t know what might collapse into the basement during demolition and damage the lines.
That makes sense to me too, but can't the lines be left and just a bypass be made shortly before the basement wall (under the sidewalk) so that they are not damaged during the demolition?
I am grateful for any advice.
Best regards
Tito
