Hello everyone,

normally I have underfloor heating in my apartment - also in the bathroom. In addition, there is a towel radiator installed in the bathroom. During the handover of the apartment (property/new build), it was said in my opinion that this is supplied with hot water via the normal heating circuit. Due to the low temperatures in the last few days, since the underfloor heating was already off, I "activated" the radiator (;)). I then noticed that the heater still has an electrical connection, a normal Schuko plug. Does anyone know what it is for? Is it for if the heating circuit is completely deactivated/off?

Best regards
Reinhard

Photo?

That sounds like a heating cartridge, but then there is usually no connection to the heating circuit.

Are there any corresponding supply and return lines?

I just thought that would be common with underfloor heating, since the low flow temperatures alone are not enough.

I only know it completely by electricity, without the integration into the underfloor heating circuit precisely because of the low supply temperature.

The HK is then filled with an alcohol? In any case, with a special fluid.

Hello,

I have uploaded a couple of pictures for you.

I can definitely heat with electricity, I checked that yesterday. As soon as the plug was in, the power meter showed >700W.

Best regards
Reinhard

Then it is, as suspected, an additional heating cartridge. Practical for drying wet clothes or warming the towel after showering/bathing.

But it costs extra.
