Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and would like to ask for your opinions, suggestions, and ideas about my latest DIY project: I have built a hand truck with an electric stair-climbing function, because who doesn’t know this? Carrying a washing machine or other heavy appliances upstairs with a simple hand truck, bent over, and the resulting back pain! To protect my back, I first bought a sled with two three-arm star wheels, hoping to make it easier to go up and down the stairs. But even that was still too exhausting. Therefore, I converted the sled with star wheels and built an electric stair climber myself. Here are a few facts so you can get an idea:

· The shaft of the star drive is electrically powered; the battery and motor are housed under a metal cover.

· There are switches both on the side of the handle and at the top end so you can conquer the stairs with one hand!

· To have the same handling as a plain sled on level ground, there is a zero position, meaning that two wheels of the three-wheel star drive are in the air at any time, allowing quick maneuvering in tight spaces!

· By pressing the switch, the star drive rotates in the desired direction, thus climbing stairs up and down with almost no effort!

What do you think of my DIY project? Would you use such a cart or do you prefer a normal hand truck?

Please share your opinion as DIY experts on what needs to be considered for such stair climbers or what you would change about my design!

Thanks in advance!

Best regards, Paul
