Hello! I urgently need your help regarding a really stupid mistake that we unfortunately caused ourselves. We have finished the interior work and are moving into our new house in September. Because of a "flaw," I can't get excited about it at all, as even our painters told us there is no solution for it. The background is: We have a visible wooden beam ceiling in our house, which we treated with white wax because we wanted the natural beams to look more modern. It turned out great, just as we imagined. Unfortunately, over the entire width of the dining and living area, we paused on the cross beam and only painted the other side a little later. Now, of course, you can exactly see the transitions there, the paint is thicker, in a word, it looks totally awful. We don't want to repaint either because it is now slightly transparent, the nature of the wood comes through well, and the beams would then become too white. Our painter said one could minimally treat the transitions with fine sandpaper, but there is obviously no chance of success, it could even get worse.

I’m going crazy, every time I see it I could cry out of anger, and the worst thing is we have to look at it for the rest of our lives while eating and relaxing on the couch. And when something bothers you that much, you automatically keep looking at it again and again. My husband is more relaxed about it and can live with it, but it is simply a fiasco and I could slap myself for not having it painted by a professional. Does anyone have ideas or any solution on how to make it look a little better? I am grateful for any idea, any advice, and tips on how to at least salvage a little. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards sks

I asked Google once: No guarantee

Maybe you could write to the company and ask them. Where I found this contribution, there was positive feedback.

But as I said, no guarantee, because I don’t know the product you worked with. I’ve never done anything like that before. I would have tried it toughly by sanding it off, but I probably would have failed.

If in doubt, just sand it down and paint everything completely again?
