Hello everyone,
we now have a big problem. We had submitted a building application and in the meantime it was criticized that a second escape route on the upper floor would not work to the back. So I told the architect to simply select the windows at the front as the second escape route. Now the building application was approved and the shock is big. The architect simply enlarged the windows on the front house facade. The opening was previously 90*220, now the window opening and all the others are 113 wide. These 23 cm more create a completely wrong appearance for the house front and also fit worse in the rooms.
Apparently 90*120 clear opening is required as an escape route in NRW.
What does that mean and what would be the minimum size for a window opening in the wall? I can hardly imagine that the frame needs 23 cm.
What do you think?
Best regards
Simon
