Hello, we bought an Ikea washbasin Godmorgon Odensvik sink. Now, very special connection parts including a siphon are included. Can I only use a faucet without a drain rod there, or is there some way to get it to work with a rod? Thanks!

I think you have bad odds there. Why don't you take the siphon stuff to a plumbing specialty store, not a hardware store, to see if they have a suitable solution; but I think you'll have to take the plunge to open the stopper.
