Hello everyone,

I have a question about the height of terrace doors in floor plan drawings.
For example, it says 2.26 m wide and 2.26 high.
Does the height of 2.26 m refer to the raw construction height or the finished dimension from the top edge of the finished floor?
Thanks in advance!

In the floor plan, structural dimensions are normally indicated. In your case, this would be the height of the opening in the masonry. From that, the height of the floor construction is then deducted.

If that is not specified, unfortunately it must be feared that the less favorable option is meant in each case. In this case, you should have it confirmed that it is the finished measurement (meaning from the top edge of the finished floor). Especially with the kitchen countertop, you will have a problem if you replace clarity with hope. For the terrace door, an effective height of 210 or 208 cm instead of the expected 226 cm is not an issue, unless you are exceptionally tall; for the countertop, however, it is more crucial.

Except of course for this super disaster ;-)

It is not an unreasonable expectation on your part as a builder to contractually fix a terrace door passage dimension and a windowsill height from the finished floor. Measurements are as worthless as their missing reference point ;-)

Is there no abbreviation listed there? For example ROK or something similar. Maybe you could briefly upload the plan? How high are your rooms? For us, the raff-store boxes are simply set at the bottom edge of the ceiling, which would correspond to a normal room height of 2.26m.
