Hello, I need help. We installed recessed lights in our drywall ceiling. To protect against heat damage, we installed spacers behind the lamps. Now my problem. Behind one hole there was a thick wooden beam of about 50x50 cm. Unfortunately, we had to mill a hole in it, otherwise the lamp would have no space. There is no room for a spacer. Can I line the milled hole with something for heat protection? But with what? Heat protection paint from the oven? Titanium heat protection tape or just simple aluminum tape? Maybe someone has advice.

Why don't you use LEDs? They hardly or do not get warm. No distance is necessary there.

Unfortunately, that does not fit into the milling hole, I would have to mill more of the beam for that, which I do not want to do.
