Hello,

I want to stabilize the slope on my property (27m long) in order to create a usable, additional level.
My current plan is to stabilize only about 10m in length because that is where the level is most important.
Then I would have a nice level of 4.1m length.

I am looking for the cheapest solution for a steep embankment.
See picture:

Someone told me old car tires would be the cheapest and then ground cover plants on top.
But I find that somehow strange.

What do you think?
Thanks!

For an even slope, you would need tires of the same size; otherwise, it will become a puzzle wall. Sure, the tires will only cost 50-100€. But what it costs if the whole slope slips because the tires certainly won't hold is disproportionate ;-) With the inclination you have in mind, I would only dare that with concrete and steel in the planting stones... if at all... Thick concrete foundation and then stack and concretize row by row. However, you also have to somehow ensure drainage.

4 meters? So plant rings are the last choice.

Has a structural engineer looked at this?

How much further does the site go? It might be easier to simply shift the current slope by 4.10m. That way, you would only need excavation. You can usually get that for free with a bit of searching. You then buy the top few centimeters directly from the landfill.

A 4.5m "wall" is definitely not insignificant.
