The circuit board of our descaling system from Grünbeck burned out, causing water to flow unnoticed through the descaler for about a month. We detected an excess consumption of 135m3. This problem seems to have been known to the company for several years. Nevertheless, the system was installed at our place about half a year ago. Who has had similar experiences and was there an agreement with the company Grünbeck?

Where did the 135m3 go? Into the drain? Doesn’t one notice something like that beforehand? And what does one thing have to do with the other? One circuit board breaking can happen, that’s covered by warranty. But if after a month you don’t realize that water is running into the drain… well, I’d say serves you right.

On the other hand, Grünbeck offers a good app with which you can also monitor the system properly.

Hello
you are quite clueless (or pretending to be). Why did you even respond.
So the water does not flow into the drain but is directed directly into the wastewater via a connection so that you don't notice it at first.
The connection between the defective circuit board and the flow has also been confirmed by the field employee of the company Grünbeck (and by the way has been known to the company for several years).
Nevertheless, no recall was initiated by the company. The newer models have all received a different circuit board.
Furthermore, the said app does not work!
To prevent any assumptions... it was activated by a field employee,
but loses contact with the Wi-Fi within a few hours (and no, the router is only 2 meters away and is also properly configured).

P.S. do you have any connection to the company Grünbeck?

Why should Grünbeck issue a recall just because a circuit board can fail sometimes? I’m also an amateur but still, I regularly check the things. It is quite possible that there are modified circuit boards in case of failure. Miele washing machines also have problems with TwinDos, Miele then replaces the machines, but there is no recall for that either, that would be a bit exaggerated. The same goes for the circuit board, water does not leak out. If it is 2m away from the router, why use Wi-Fi and not a LAN cable? I have no problems with the app at all. However, I switched it to LAN and laid a patch cable.
