Hello everyone,
as one of the last trades, the bathroom was finished, including the walk-in shower. It consists of a Saxoboard (with heating) and tiles were laid directly on it with unfortunately a bit too much space.
Now we have the problem that the grout color is very light and in the area of the walk-in shower, some spots remain dark immediately after processing/drying – which is unfortunately very unsightly. The grout in the bathroom has so far been repaired twice and is now supposed to be redone for a third time. One might think that there is moisture under the tiles and the grout does not dry properly, but I meticulously checked for moisture between the tiles with a cotton swab during the second repair, and there was no water to be seen. The grout remains dark after the repair even though no showering has taken place yet. The 20 cm between the heating board and screed (with underfloor heating), where no heating is present, is always involved (see photo height hand shadow), but also above in the shower. We have also left the heating on for 24 hours there, but it didn’t help.
What could be the reason? I have now suggested new grout for the third repair but almost don’t believe in it.
Regards
