Hello,
in the house we bought last year, there is a reddish-brown natural stone floor in the hallway, which is no longer very attractive - dull and matte, edges, chips and small flakes, probably caused by objects that fell on it, as well as stains (possibly from an attempt to treat the floor with acid?).
Now I have gotten some offers from restorers of such floors - €1,500 - €1,700 for about 16 m²! That's too much for me.
You can also rent various machines, which I have already inquired about - a "Rotierende Bodenschleifmaschine" costs €42/day plus the sanding pads €5-10 each.
Now the actual questions:
- Is a "Rotierende Bodenschleifmaschine" the right machine for such work
- Which sanding pads should one use and how intensively
- Can an average person like me do this (I don't have two left hands, for example, laying parquet in a room of about 40 m² went quite well for me)?
Thanks in advance!
