Hello everyone,
I am new here and have a question that I have not yet found an answer to.
We are currently building an outdoor kitchen and want to lay granite tiles there. A friend just pointed out a problem to me and I need your advice on it.
This is how it should look in the end:

And for this, I laid concrete lawn edging stones as the base for the work surface - seen here:

Now I was told that there can be tensions and I should not lay the granite tiles (61 x 30.5 x 1 cm) directly on the concrete parts. Of course, I would use a proper flexible adhesive, but that would not be enough - I need at least a decoupling mat so that cracks in the granite tiles do not occur later due to tensions.
Of course, the whole thing is outside in any weather and can get as cold as -20°C and as hot as +30°C...
Do I really have to use a decoupling mat for this, or is a good flexible adhesive enough?
