Normally you go over there, show him the dilemma and ask him to fix it. he comes by with his tractor with a shovel in front and solves the problem in 1-2 hours. then new seeds on top and done. and next time he keeps a little more distance. you really don't want to mess with farmers. they have great machines to help :)
