Hello, two of our light switches are sticking. I believe they are light switches from the Gira Series 55, but I’m not exactly sure. Therefore, the questions:

1. Can anyone identify exactly which Gira model it is?
2. Once the circuit breaker is off: How can I check if a small defect (e.g., a broken bracket inside) is the cause? I just tried to remove the switch with my fingers, unsuccessfully. Does it work simply with a screwdriver and light pressure?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is the simple 55 series in glossy.

Can be easily removed with a screwdriver.

They look crookedly installed. Possibly a correct installation will solve the problem.

Where "light" sometimes fits quite tightly. So don't worry, there is no hidden system that you will break, the buttons are always simply clicked in. But with the screwdriver, it's still best to pry from below, so you don't make visible scratches on the plastic.

Before using the screwdriver, PLEASE "unscrew the fuse"!

The original poster already said that above.

But, "Don't try this at home"(TM), you really have to be extremely clumsy or deliberately careless to get to the contacts when popping off the switch plate.
Of course, the fuse must still be removed.

Then I also read that it was already mentioned in the first post and couldn't delete it anymore. In the parallel thread, ovens are connected three-phase by hobby craftsmen with various cable cross-sections, so the warning might not hurt ;). Really unwise would be with a metal screwdriver, barefoot, and in a puddle.
