A Geberit concealed cistern, active and repair-free for 24 years, is leaking!

If you remove the flush plate and operate the push rod by hand, everything is fine.

Therefore, I assume that the float valve and the seals are in good condition.

During the first repair attempt, I saw that a spring in the flush plate was broken. I obtained and replaced the spring from the internet for approximately €3. Then it worked for two weeks. Now it doesn’t work anymore, although the spring is fine.

What is the cause of the continuous leaking of the toilet flush?

Thank you

If it works with the plate removed, then it must be due to the pressure of the operating plate/button. Try turning the pin in a little.

tomtom79, thanks for the response!

I was mistaken in my observation. The water was running even without the push plate. The error occurred sometimes, sometimes not.

After I turned off the water supply, the running stopped.

Then I removed the float valve and mechanically descaled it, scraped off the limescale. Now everything is fine again.

The removal instructions for the float valve, on a cover plate behind the push plate, were helpful. The videos on the internet about the cisterns are also very helpful for laypeople.

Thanks
