Garden chair aluminum or steel powder coated

Hi,

a materials-related question ;)

We want to buy new high-back garden chairs with adjustable backrests.

Some are made of aluminum, others of powder-coated steel. Apart from aluminum being lighter, I don’t really know the differences. I vaguely remember that my parents once had powder-coated ones, which eventually started peeling. But I could be wrong.

Powder-coated steel will eventually show signs of corrosion. For that, it is cheaper (and heavier).

If the wallet allows, then only aluminum.

Aluminum / Aluminum powder-coated or stainless steel. You then have it for 20 years (if you want). Otherwise, just 3 new simple ones in that time…
