Hello,
we are currently planning a house with a double garage on two neighboring plots, so in a corner of the property. For cost reasons, it should be a metal prefabricated garage. In Germany, you are allowed to place a garage exactly on the property boundary or one meter away from it so that you can remove the weeds without having to enter the neighbor's property. I called a garage manufacturer yesterday, and they told me that the gutters protrude 10 cm above the garage wall and are always on the back side of the garage (opposite the gate). The gutter would then be on my neighbor's side. It is clear that the gutter must not protrude onto the neighbor's property, but then the garage wall stands 10 cm from the boundary on my land, and if the neighbor already had a fence there, then a 10 cm wide strip of weeds would form, which I cannot keep clean from my property. What is the legal situation? How should the garage be placed?
