Hello everyone,

we have a prefabricated house built with a timber frame construction.

Just now I noticed a gap in a wall, which I don't think was this big before. (Pictures are attached)

Could it be that the wall has "settled"? The screed was applied yesterday.

Do you think this gap is too big and concerning? If yes, how should it be closed? I guess not by foaming :) I have the impression the manufacturer will just plaster over it when plastering.

Many thanks

Steffen

Is this an interior wall? And Image 3 basically shows the view into the gap? Then it seems as if the gap on the other side is sealed with an insulating strip or something like that. Unfortunately, the images are only partially revealing, as it is not clear what kind of wall it is.

These are exterior walls. In the picture, you can basically see the view from the outside onto the wooden frame of the wall on the inside (so yes, picture 3 is the view of the gap from the outside). That is where the living room wall meets the bay window wall of the kitchen.

Not a single person has an opinion on this?

Yes; but the images are not very informative. Furthermore, it is unclear to what extent they are system-related within the system of your prefabricated house builder; you can't really look through them.

It's best if you ask your site manager.

I would also contact the site manager about that. He should take care of it...
