Gable window in the attic?

Hello,

are gable windows in the attic sensible? The attic is not insulated. For a bit of daylight, such a window is quite good, but actually the roof window for the chimney sweep also serves that purpose.

A colleague saw on the neighboring house that there are unsightly "water stains" on the window; I assume the window has no windowsill.

We have also planned two smaller ones (one on the left and one on the right) for "ventilation." It is unclear whether this makes sense. Many people also make decorative triangular windows (no idea what they cost).

That's exactly the point, because I'm just showing a bit of stinginess right now

How high is the attic? If it is only to be used/can be used as a storage area, then I don't necessarily find a window necessary. However, if another use would be possible (playroom, office), then I would plan a simple gable window to be prepared if needed. I also find these triangular gable windows much too expensive if the room is only storage space.

The attic is not convertible, perhaps as a quiet corner. The floor is not dimensioned in the draft I have; from the side view, the measurements can be estimated as approximately 4m x 10m x 1.98m (ceiling top to ridge).

I would also recommend installing a window on each gable side, simply to have daylight in the attic on the one hand and the possibility for proper ventilation on the other.

Our two windows in the attic (pure storage space or maybe sometimes a place for the Carrera track ) have the same window sills on the outside as all other windows in the house.

However, we "saved" on the shutters for both windows – that seemed absolutely unnecessary to us.

We had the interior window sills cut to size at the hardware store and installed them ourselves.
