Hello everyone,

maybe you can help me. We want to build in the foreseeable future and have been dealing with floor plans, etc. for a while.
My wife places enormous value on a "beautiful" front view of the house. Specifically, she would like

UG: front door with side element centrally located, on the left and right respectively 2 windows arranged synchronously, front door recessed inward (one stone?)
OG: triangular glass element, with eaves interruption (a kind of Friesen/captain’s gable, but recessed inward)

She doesn’t like such covered entrances with glass roofs.

Does anyone have an idea what my wife means so that I can search for it on the internet. Maybe there are pictures or drawings about it.

I think it’s nice if my wife likes it, mostly women have somehow a better eye for that… right! :)

Best regards and thanks

Instead of the plant pots, you can also put windows in and move the doorbell to the side wall.

To have a nice front view, it does not depend on individual elements, but in my opinion, everything has to fit together. Therefore, the front view should be considered as a whole.

Best regards

Hello,

first of all, thank you very much for your reply!

This entrance comes very close, however, the recessed area should extend all the way under the roof and the offset should be angled, I think 45°.

On the upper floor, as mentioned, then a window element and thus the front door is covered from all the way above..... I know, not quite easy to explain...

you mean a Friesian gable, which is not living space but merely protects the entrance area and the walls on the ground floor then run at a 45-degree angle to the entrance door?

You don't happen to have a sketch/link or something like that on hand..?

Unfortunately not. But it almost sounds like the entrance area of our neighbors, except that their entrance area is in a line and not recessed. Just google "überdachter Eingang" or "überdachter Eingangsbereich" and then go to image search. You will find some pictures that are similar.
