Good day and hello dear people,

our front door was scraping on the floor and I wanted to raise it higher.
In the meantime, I have simply sanded it a bit at the bottom and painted it a little against the weather.

But for the future, I am still interested
if anyone sees a way to raise the door using screws and an Allen key.

Above all, I found nothing on the net about the 4 Allen screws on the door hinge, which go sideways into the door on the side of the door handle.

What exactly can be adjusted there and how?
See photos 3 and 4.

I have prepared labeled photos:

Thank you in advance!

how did you sand down the bottom when it rests on the floor?
Door removed?
You should have looked for adjustment screws on the door hinge or the frame

It was rubbing like that because the door is not rubbing on the floor, but on the metal strip at the bottom of the floor. I am adding this information at the top again.

EDIT: I did not see any adjustment screws just now. However, I am very interested in what the Allen screws in photo no. 4 are for and how and what can be done with them.

You cannot adjust anything on the hinge (in my opinion). Remove the bolt 3 times (no. 2) and place shims (0.2…0.3 mm) in between so that the door is slightly higher.

With no. 4 you can possibly adjust the closing pressure of the door (like with windows with mushroom head locks). However, the Allen key probably only serves to mount them.
