Hello everyone,

I would like to know if anyone can recommend any freeware for floor plan design. I have found some on the Internet but would like to know if anyone has had good or bad experiences with any freeware. I am also interested in whether these are easy to use for laypeople (layperson = comfortable with Windows, Microsoft Office, etc., but without experience with specialized planning software).

Thank you very much for your experiences.

Best regards

Sketchup

The question has already been discussed extensively many times with many suggestions ranging from free to affordable to professional (price)

I myself use Sweet Home 3D, but I bought the extension pack on Amazon for 15€. However, the freeware is completely sufficient for basic floor plan planning.

I also use Sweet-Home 3D and am quite satisfied with it. By now, you can also add multiple floors.

I find the rendered walkthrough of the object a pretty attractive feature. Even though you need a fairly powerful computer and a lot of time to render such a video in acceptable/good quality. Apart from the fact that it is important to support open source developers, you don’t necessarily have to buy the premium version. There are thousands of models and furniture freely available.

I also use Home Sweet 3D. I bought the version on Amazon here, but then downloaded a ton of models. I also like that you can walk through everything in 3D.

I can also gladly send you one or two links to my video via PM.
