Free space behind the base cabinet with a large pull-out

Hello everyone, how much space is behind a tall drawer (40cm height) of a 60cm or 80cm base cabinet? We are currently looking for a place for a sub-distribution or the control box in the kitchen. We need about 10 cm of depth for this. There would be enough space at the sink base cabinet, but the cabinet is a normal 60cm or 80cm base cabinet. Best regards Ben

hello ben, a 45cm deep drawer should fit there. but... electricity and water together? you should ask an electrician beforehand, I think there are special regulations, the risk of leaks is quite high... best regards robi

Hey Robi, thanks for the info. The box is supposed to go behind a normal, in this case now 80 cm base cabinet. So I understand correctly that there are drawers with different depths? What is the standard depth? The 45 cm depth is actually intended for the sink base cabinets, right? But it should fit in every other base cabinet? Best regards Ben

Yes, the 45 cm deep drawers also fit in other cabinets. The standard depth is 53 cm.

Okay, 53cm might also fit, since the distribution box shouldn't be too thick. Well, the depth is ordered anyway, if it doesn't work out, it will be replaced with the 45cm one.
