Floor tiles 30x60 or 60x60?

Hello,

I am currently choosing tiles for a new rental apartment. The kitchen, bathroom, hallway, and storage room will have the same light gray tiles. The living room and bedroom will have parquet.

The apartment is 59m² and the rooms are rather small. On one hand, people say that 30x60 tiles laid crosswise in a pattern visually widen the room a bit. On the other hand, this results in many grout lines in a small space, and 60x60 tiles look cleaner to the eye.

The hallway also shifts a bit at the end, so 60x60 with cross jointing might look odd there? And the rather small bathroom has a crooked wall.

What do you think?

Best regards Oliver

Per 60x60. (Almost) always looks more valuable (than it is)

I would first make a laying plan because of the special floor plan. Since these are only the narrow rooms, there is a high risk of creating strange edge areas.

As already written in the other forum, I would have the door of the storage room open outwards.

Thank you for the hint. Who makes such a laying plan? The tile studio or do you have to somehow draw it yourself?

The storage room door opens outwards in the latest plan.

As I just wrote in the other forum, I would also have the bathroom door open outwards. And there is already a [Verlegevorschlag] for that.

Isn’t it rather a condominium you intend to rent out yourself? To me, that looks like a project from a property developer, so more about having a say in the sample selection than having full control over the contract with the tiler.
