Hello and good day,

we moved into our new building in 03/2008 and are now noticing that the floor is sinking in some places and a gap of up to 10mm is forming. Since we have underfloor heating, we assume that the Styrofoam boards are sinking.

Now we don’t know who is responsible for this, us or the house construction company?

Regards Alberthafen

Hello,

you have a warranty of 5 years according to the Baugesetzbuch, and from my point of view, this is a warranty case.
Ask your lawyer.

Hello everyone,

Construction law disputes are excluded from legal expenses insurance. All costs for lawyer, expert, and court must first be advanced by you. An out-of-court settlement during an on-site appointment with an expert and the contractor is likely to be the wiser decision.

Best regards
