Hello,

we are currently in the middle of the electrical planning and intend to install a floor box with power, 2 x Sat (because of a recording receiver) and possibly a LAN connection between the living room and dining room.

My electrician has not done something like this in the home area so far and only knows one system (Tehalit UDS-Zuhause komplett UDKPQ06).

You can find hundreds of kits and systems online. But I lack the knowledge to research everything myself. Therefore my question to you: Has anyone installed something like this and can give me tips?

Hello,

very interesting question.

I’d like to join in on that. Is such an underground tank compatible with a water-based underfloor heating system?

Would the screed thickness then possibly need to be increased?

Regards,

Dirk

We decided years ago to invest in two floor tanks (floor socket UDS-ZuHause with supply unit VQ06, device cup GBV3. Protective contact sockets etc. from TRADEX) for the conservatory. Visually top, only slightly raised, color matching well, the tiled cover follows the joint pattern and there are no disturbing sockets in the conservatory glazing... Above all, very functional; in addition to the power lines (three separate circuits so that multiple high consumers such as raclette sets cause no problems), there are also empty conduits for other cables, e.g., antenna, network, telephone, speakers, etc., enough space for installing additional sockets, the cover should even be driveable, and above all, there are no extension cords and multiple sockets lying around that could possibly endanger the walkways...

... however, a bit of the original unease remains... in my opinion, the floor tanks are not safe from spilled buckets of water or knocked-over floor vases.

The minimum installation height is 95 mm. In our case, there was a 160 mm floor structure from raw floor to the top edge of the finished floor, so plenty of space. We installed the FMW ceramic underfloor heating system; the tanks were cast in and the impact sound insulation underneath was applied over the whole area.

I had floor boxes installed under the desks. They are called Ackermann GES4. Very elegant units, the floor covering, in my case wood or tile, was inserted into the cover, so these things really don’t stand out at all. It’s also not a problem with normal screed height and underfloor heating.

I just realized that I haven't replied here at all.

We had the floor tank 8903-B installed. Entirely stainless steel, compact and unobtrusive. The lid is covered with tiles.
