Good evening everyone,

I am new here in the forum and hope to post my contribution in the right place.
We are currently building a single-family house in Brandenburg. The house will be a KFW55 house, so it has special insulation, including an extra insulated floor slab.
The floor slab insulation was done on the side with Lohrelements. Above the Lohrelements, the walls were insulated this week. Attached is a photo where you can clearly see the green Lohrelements below the plinth.
Currently, due to the insulation, we have 3 "levels" in the exterior wall. At the very bottom is the Lohrelement, above it the plinth which is about 5 cm thicker, and then the actual exterior wall which is somewhat thicker.
Do you have any idea or tip on how I can reduce all these steps a bit? Would you recommend filling up the soil until the green insulation disappears? We have also considered working with bitumen and studded foil to create an elevated splash guard around the house. Has anyone perhaps had such a "problem" before and can send me photos of how it was solved?

As I said, I hope I am in the right place here :)

Thank you in advance and have a nice evening!

Regards

Molle

What is blue in the picture seems to be the fabric of the drip edge profile. That is OK. What is green "Lohr Element" will be below the finished floor level later. You can see this from the height of the entrance door. You can't go wrong with studded foil, it allows water to drain more quickly into the deeper layers towards the gravel or drainage. The base still needs to be plastered. If I were your plasterer, I would have provided a 45° slope downward towards the floor slab insulation. If I am seeing correctly at the entrance door, your floor slab had a protrusion outward for static reasons. ETICS panels were probably placed on top. Not ideal in areas below the finished floor level because the later sealing cannot be guaranteed 100%.
