ahem... aside from the fact that the size of the light openings is prescribed as a percentage of the living spaces according to Din, I am surprised that you have no sense of how much light a window size actually provides and that they are far too small for the rooms! When you get to your own planning, you do deal somewhat with the "simple and fundamental" rules of house construction :) I am amazed that this exaggeration of lack of light is still (unconsciously) drawn at all – usually the willing builders strive for openness and huge windows and forget about any supports ;) I just had to get that off my chest :) Planning only one exit to the terrace or garden is absolutely too little: you want to go out into the garden… or do you have an orchid collection that needs so many windowsills? These will all be very dark caves! Energetically, the window areas don’t exactly support the house either... Others are welcome to comment on further points :) Cheers Yvonne

Please also include the property, otherwise the rest will not be easier to assess :)

Yes, those are not very nice windows.

Other points I noticed:

[*]How should a wardrobe solution in the hallway look? Possibly have the front door open the other way
[*]Bathroom on the upper floor .. Both the toilet and shower are in the area or below the 2m line ... Especially the shower is not acceptable.

- I agree with the shower. It will not work like that in the master bathroom.
- The wall stub between dining and living unnecessarily restricts you. Extending the table when needed is not possible like this. I would leave out the stub and arrange the couch differently.
- The hallway on the upper floor will be dark.
- I am not a fan of large windows. But in the children’s rooms, it is really too little. Either at least floor-to-ceiling (we have floor-to-ceiling windows with a width of 1.26 in rooms of similar size)
- In the dining area, I would tend to a sliding door.
- Access from the utility room to the terrace seems very sensible to me: carrying laundry outside, dirt lock for the kids, etc.
- I also miss the direct access from the hallway to the living room.
- The hallway on the ground floor is large but somehow hardly allows good furnishing for 4 people.

Not bad for a start :) But, there is no door from the hallway to the living room; maybe a double-leaf door with glass insert or something similar to make the whole thing more impressive and to bring more light into the hallway. Speaking of the hallway, there is no real space for a wardrobe anywhere, at most under the stairs. Overall, way too few and too small windows (missing windows in the garage), as already mentioned. The kitchen is large, but furnished in such a way that, relative to its size, there is rather little storage or workspace available. The bar stools are completely unnecessary, right next to the dining table. The parents' and children's bathrooms upstairs don't work like this. The 2 m line does not mean the roof doesn't slope before that. If you don't want to always have to duck your shoulders or constantly feel cramped, you shift the sinks and toilets more toward the middle. Also, the pipes of the children's bathroom currently run through your living room. Better to make sure that bathrooms are roughly above other bathrooms or above utility rooms, for example. My personal opinion is also that you are overdoing it with the small walls in the bathrooms. Why does each "toilet bowl" have to be in its own prison cell? The numbers of the external dimensions may look modern, but I find them extremely hard to read. A 4 should look like a 4.
