Hello everyone,

I am currently working on bathroom planning for our new build. However, I am still unsure about my floor plan and would like to show it and ask for tips and suggestions on what could be improved.

Basically, I believe the problem is that we cannot place the door differently. The window is also not ideal for the floor plan, but otherwise the exterior view would no longer be symmetrical. I am also not sure if the corner between the shower and bathtub bothers us. But I really can't manage to plan it away.

We actually have no special requirements for the bathroom. What always bothers me, however, are glass shower cabins. I don’t like the braces. Also, despite the braces, I always find them wobbly and unstable.

Attached is the plan from a 3D program. Please disregard tiles and colors. The dimensions are also shown there. The required shaft is planned with 20x60cm for sanitation and electricity. It is located at the top right of the plan. This creates a 24cm false wall. What do you think about that? We are 2 adults and 2 children.

Many thanks.

Best regards Martin

Could you possibly bring along a few larger sections regarding the "there really is no other way" framework conditions? Like maybe the plan of the entire floor and the exterior view where you can see the symmetry problem (for example, our windows are placed somewhat symmetrically but still not identical on the floors). Maybe it doesn’t change anything, but maybe a clever fellow forum member might come up with something else there.

Personally, I can’t really contribute much. It vaguely reminds me of the bathroom in our last rental apartment, which I always found functional but not particularly nice...

I think the layout is already close to optimal. I would move the sinks further towards the window but otherwise change nothing.

Thanks for the feedback. We now wanted to change a small detail. Namely, to remove the wall between the shower and the bathtub and replace the brick wall with a glass wall. Then possibly reduce the shower width from 1.2m to 1.1m so that there is still about 50cm of space between the shower and the bathtub to virtually install a freestanding bathtub. What do you think about that?

I personally don't like freestanding bathtubs that much. Where am I supposed to put the wine glass and lay down the book there?
