Hello hello,
since there are already some wonderful "Show and Tell" entries, I wanted to enrich your forum with another one. Specifically, I am interested in the color contrasts between the floor color and the wall color (painted or wall tiles) of all kinds of rooms (except basements or attics).
This forum entry can then also inspire all future homeowners for their own dilemma of choice "Light floor in the bathroom or rather dark tiles?" / "Dark wood look in the living room or rather light and a dark wall?"
Here is what you can find on the internet about how the different color combinations affect the rooms:
PS: What are warm and dark tones? Isn’t that a contradiction?
With quotes from various websites, I could almost go on indefinitely here. I don’t want to go into the effects of individual specific colors now (but anyone who wants to may, of course).
But now I would be interested in your color combinations
Many thanks to everyone who shares their artistic design possibilities and ideas here.
Ann.
since there are already some wonderful "Show and Tell" entries, I wanted to enrich your forum with another one.
Rooms facing north usually appear rather cool due to the lack of sunlight. Warm, intense wall colors are a good way to make the room feel cozier. Delicate colors, on the other hand, are perfect for rooms that are flooded all day with warm sunlight.
Warm and dark tones visually shorten the room depth and therefore appear closer when viewed. Even in large rooms, this can create a feeling of inviting coziness and security.
PS: What are warm and dark tones? Isn’t that a contradiction?
Light and cool tones appear less close to the viewer’s eye and visually give rooms more width and openness. These colors are a good choice when designing smaller rooms. Bay windows and window reveals can also be highlighted in a lighter color to visually enlarge the room.
Light floors are excellent for feel-good design in the bathroom. Light floors harmonize well with the often already light walls typically found in sanitary areas. In addition, the room appears less cluttered in this way and forms the perfect symbiosis with mirror and glass surfaces as are usually realized in bathrooms.
Delicate glass, sturdy oak, or wicker furniture – in the dining room, the focus is centrally on the seating group. Tables and chairs should therefore be combined with an appealing floor. Light floors are excellent for creating the necessary feel-good factor in the dining area. The subtle color scheme ensures that what belongs in the center stays in the center: the seating area.
Light floor / light walls / light ceiling: Light colors on every surface ensure rooms that appear wide and friendly. Too much white, however, can lead to an impersonal ambiance.
Light floor / dark walls / light ceiling: Here the horizontal lines are emphasized. Rooms gain depth, coziness, and personality.
Light floor / one dark back wall / light ceiling: Room appears visually narrower. This allows furniture to be staged and accents to be set.
Dark floor / light walls / light ceiling: Room appears wider.
