Hello,
Kind regards
You can demand many things, but don’t forget that house construction is also a contract for work and services, which is concluded based on supply and demand. The prefabricated house company xy makes you an offer, and you have the choice to accept it or not ;)My question is: Can I demand that a completion/move-in date be explicitly stated in the contract text for the contract with the prefabricated house company?
Every reputable company states a completion date from the start of earthworks. Naturally, there are exclusions concerning "bad weather" or "force majeure"—for which no one can be held liable; likewise, there is a monetary compensation clause regarding an extension of the construction period, provided it originates from the conduct of the company. If your prefabricated house provider xy does not provide this, there are certainly good reasons for their behavior, and I would refrain from signing the contract in your place. My consideration/fear was/is that if this point is not mentioned in the contract text at all, then the prefabricated house company (if they get into some scheduling constraints) could indefinitely walk away from my construction project while my loan costs continue merrily and uselessly until bankruptcy???
Kind regards
